ANPC: Chicken meat with salmonella, withdrawn from sale

Inspectors from the Consumer Protection Commission discovered chicken meat products contaminated with salmonella in a warehouse and two workplaces.

"On March 13, 2024, the commissioners of CRPC Bucharest Ilfov conducted inspections at Rewe Romania SA (Penny), including their warehouse in Ştefăneşti commune and two work points in Bucharest, suspecting the contamination of certain poultry products with salmonella. Samples were collected from chicken breast with bone and skin, lot 1041203, chicken liver Hanul Boieresc, lot 1041203, grilled chicken Hanul Boieresc, lot 1041103 and lot 1041203, produced by SC Vanbet SRL, located in Strâmtura Mitoc locality, Banca commune, Vrancea county. Subsequent laboratory analyses, involving microbiological examination, confirmed the presence of salmonella," as stated in a press release from the National Authority for Consumer Protection (ANPC).


The affected products have been removed from the market.
