Pilgrim table is set in the Sint-Julianusgasthuis chapel for Maundy Thursday |
Today, on Maundy Thursday, the Pilgrim's table is once again arranged in the chapel of the Sint-Julianusgasthuis on Hoogstraat in Antwerp. This time, the setup and adornment of the table were orchestrated by chef Faieq Al-Mamoori from the Gasthuis training restaurant in Mechelen, in collaboration with the organization UnitedWe.
The Pilgrim's Table, conceptualized by artists Nadia Naveau and Nico Dockx, stands as an impressive tableau vivant. Throughout the day, it welcomes numerous visitors, as is customary. However, in the evening, twelve vulnerable residents of Antwerp are granted the opportunity to partake in its offerings.
