Cristina Cordula: the real reasons for the Queens of Shopping stop revealed |
Cristina Cordula is set to reappear in an unexpected setting: departing from M6 and the fashion realm, the quintessential French-Brazilian personality will grace TF1's Dancing with the Stars. However, fans of The Queens of Shopping may need to adjust their expectations.
Between June 2013 and October 2022, Cordula hosted the program Les Reines du shopping on M6. Subsequently, the show's production company opted to halt the filming of new episodes. Since then, Cordula, renowned for her vibrant presence, has predominantly utilized social media to stay connected with her audience, with a brief attempt at a comeback with Dressing Challenge, which unfortunately did not gain traction.
Yet, Cordula's departure from M6 does not signify failure. She asserted that her shift away from hosting M6 programs aimed at focusing on "other projects," notably the launch of her makeup brand, Magnifaïk. Despite her ventures, Cordula has carved out time for an entirely distinct program, veering away from M6: Dancing with the Stars.
Cordula's decision to engage in a different endeavor reflects a need for change. In an interview with 20 minutes last September, she elucidated the rationale behind the hiatus of The Queens of Shopping. "It's not the end; it's just that after ten years, it's refreshing to introduce something new," elaborated the mother of Enzo.
"I adore this show, I've had a blast with it, and I still do, but we wanted to explore a different concept. Introducing this novelty is crucial because people aren't fully aware of it yet. There's still groundwork to cover. It's a fresh perspective on shopping that we deemed pertinent," she added. While The Queens of Shopping may not have reached its conclusion definitively, its return seems unlikely in the near future. In the interim, let's dance!
